TAUNTON—Now over halfway through the spring season, the Greater Taunton area is still home to some of the most talented in the state who’ll soon be gearing up for the start of the playoffs in a few weeks time.
Taunton softball continued to roll through the Hockomock League last week with high-scoring wins over Milford and Foxboro while Taunton baseball bounced right back from their upset loss to Mansfield with a dominant performance against North Attleboro. Bridgewater-Raynham baseball earned a walk-off win over BC High while Bridgewater-Raynham softball shut out Braintree. Dighton-Rehoboth softball found themselves on the losing end of a 1-0 dual pitchers against rivals Somerset Berkley. Both Bridgewater-Raynham and Dighton-Rehoboth boys lacrosse continue to perform well, with the Trojans taking down Canton in non-league action and the Falcons beating Bourne and Apponequet for back-to-back South Coast Conference wins.

Taunton softball’s Liv Mendonca is the Taunton Daily Gazette Player of the Week for April 25-May 1, receiving 21% of the vote. Taunton girls lacrosse’s Sarah Clark finished second with 16% while Bridgewater-Raynham girls lacrosse’s Audrey Lambert finished third also with 16% of the vote, with just two votes separating them.
Now is the time to cast your vote for the Taunton Daily Gazette Player of the Week for May 2-7, with polls open through Sunday at noon and voting limited to one vote per person per hour.
